I am born without a camera..Hey,
I sold all my photography equipment.
It feels strange but at the same time it feels liberating.
I feel so lucky that I had the opportunity to take photos that express bits of my life and Life in general. I will be a cameraless photographer during the next months, maybe even the next years..
For now, I have to focus on finding ways to promote my artworks. Self-promotion is a full time job!
I also believe that missing a tool is a healthy creative leap sometime.
Enjoy the camera you have in your hands because nothing lasts forever!

oh well.. I held myself back from posting this... but I really had the urge to post it.

DA is a phenomenon. I know I really don't have to care about what is getting hyped or featured here. I know it has nothing to do with my world, so I don't bother.

Still, it happens that I scroll down to the bottom of this site and happen to come across one or another DD...

Then, I don't care about what is on the top favorites or front page. I never go there because I wouldn't expect to find anything that stirs my interest.

But when it comes to DDs.. I really wonder why the hell one would feature some completely uncreative, mainstream crap that we see in every second wannabe artist/photographer DA portfolio. What's the reason of picking and featuring something like that.

It seems like there is absolutely no sense or standard when it comes to DDs at all. There is so much good stuff on this website, that you could feature - it's kinda sad that really bad things get chosen over it, because the people who pick them are obviously not capable of doing a good job. people in the wrong position.

To add one more thing. I see a couple of great DD picks as well on the other side... but doesn't this make you wonder even more how others could pick DDs that are so bland.

I think the problem is that admins and gallery directors have the option to choose and pick DDs. I would rather see a group of people, normal members, that have proven in real life, that they have success or have a knowledge of what they're doing - simply professionals, have the ability to feature DDs.

I see most admins as really nice people, doing a great job, keeping this website going. A lot of helpful people who really keep this site running and do a great job BUT there is a difference between doing that and curating.

Sometimes I'd love to pick DDs but I'd never do the stuff an admin or gallery director does.

I like macro art/photography/etc., but such things get DD's more often than they probably should. Half the time, the shots aren't even that artistic.
