I was on a shoot with two actors when this boy appeared. I immediately saw his paper Leica with a built-in kaleidoscope instead of a lens. I asked him if i could take a photo of him (in german). He didn't quite react. He seemed kind of shy at first. Then i took my camera up (Leica M6) and asked him to do the same. He all of a sudden understood and took his paper camera and looked through it as if he was taking a photo of me too.
Later i found out he was a foreigner on holidays with his parents. He didn't speak a single word in german.
For me this shot was always a tribute to photography as a form of language of its own.
I felt i'd submit something related to Leica, because i just browsed devantart by "leica" and found this: [link]
(darkroom print on agfa MC fiber paper, exposed on efke25 film)
hab so ne "kaleidoskop-leica" neulich in hamburg in nem geschäft gesehen (und ausprobiert) da musste ich an dein bild hier denken. macht bessere bilder als ne echte ...
ps: isn't it a bit dangerous to shoot with a kiev in the states ?
macht bessere bilder als ne echte ...
Haha and dA is lost, that Leica search creates a new, mixed genre of Anime camera porn.
